we use concurrent engineering principles where we can take a customer shared concept or scope and fast track it to a CAM supported CNC machine. Post machining reverse geometry creation can form the basis for subsequent catch up CAD work either in house or at client. This approach allows customers’ design resources to focus on ever shifting priorities while accelerating product creation and delivery.
An additional feature of our approach to all things mechanical design, is our regular tasks operating on a concurrent design for manufacture basis, eg methods planning, workholding planning, machining and dimensional risk planning through to built-in design for inspection planning.
Either with our without up-front customer design input, we focus on adding significant value along the way and our design for manufacture expertise always results in a process or product which is truly optimised.
We can apply these principles wherever required and of varying complexity, for various industries. The mix between design to manufacture can often be 95% design like one recent project we were tasked with Design for manufacture of machining fixtures for small turbine blades. Only with an in-depth expertise of machining and collision avoidance techniques can such a process be optimised for the end user.
